Refreshing Dried Flower Arrangements

Dried flowers have become a staple of home and office decorating. They need much less maintenance than live plants or cut flowers, but they do still require a little maintaining.

Keep your dried arrangements away from direct sunlight. This will help to preserve the colors and their brightness. It will also keep them from deteriorating as fast.

Be sure to dust your arrangements regularly. Use a blow dryer on a low setting to help remove dust without damaging fragile petals and leaves.

Give your arrangements, and the rooms they are in, a shot of scent. Rather than room fresheners or perfumes, if your arrangements are in ceramic or glass containers, add a drop or two of essential oil to the container. This will not only add a fragrance to the arrangement, but to the room as well. Clove or cinnamon will give a spicy kick that is delightfully unexpected. Citrus oils lend a fresh, clean feeling to a room.
