Making Floral Gift Tags - Childrens Project

These bright and cheerful gift tags can liven up any parcel by adding a little extra colour and sparkle. They can also be made in a variety of different sizes to suit any size of gift, and are certain to be admired by whoever receives them. These flowers are easy to make and are the perfect way to keep children occupied during weekends and school holidays. Photographs are also included to support the step-by-step instructions.
Things you will need
Coloured card, Pencil, Pen, Scissors, Ruler, Glue, Shapes to draw round and Sticky Tape.
How to make your gift tags
1. Place an egg cup, or other circular object, onto a piece of coloured card and draw round it. Repeat the process and then cut both circles out. Then find a slightly smaller circular object and place it on a different coloured piece of card, draw round it and cut it out.
2. Make a basic petal template to suit the size of flower you are hoping to make. Then place it on coloured card, draw round it and cut it out. You will then need to repeat this process until you have twelve petals.
3. Take your larger circle and glue the smaller circle onto it. Then write “To” and “From” in the middle of the smaller circle with a black pen.
4. Carefully stick the ends of your petals around the back of the circle, so that most of them are visible at the front as shown in the photograph.
5. Finally, turn your flower over and stick the remaining circle on the back of the flower to reinforce it. Then, once your tag is dry, stick it onto your gift with sticky tape and admire your work!
